Nenna is a classically trained pianist having received her Masters Degree from the Music Academy in Belgrade, Serbia. So right off the bat you know that she has chops. She honed her style playing as a working musician with many different people and genres in clubs, hotels, and cruise lines. Now she has decided to step out with her own music as Nenna. Her first single, released through Finland's Lion Music, is entitled "You Make My Day". The song starts off with a chugging guitar and synth intro. Her vocals come in strong, and they need to because this is a fully produced song. The tempo is fairly fast and the instruments are right up front. I like her voice although this is not a demanding song to sing range wise. The song struck me as a commercial mid-tempo rocker. The melody is a little catchy if not actually memorable. I definitely liked the crunchy sounding guitar and the way she followed the solo with her piano, weaving it around the guitar lines. All in all I would say that Nenna has made a good start for those looking for an energetic, feelgood, and somewhat poppy song to brighten their day.
