Krisiun: Bloodshed

In the span of a mere 40 minutes Brazil's Krisiun takes listeners through the nine levels of hell in 12 easy steps, revealing secrets of darkness and despair that only the most stalwart member of the Krisiun army could possibly endure. That said, the trio from down there will probably take new recruits and if you're strong of heart and spirit, that is that you have the constitution to withstand the temperatures at which this band works its darkened magic, then perhaps you too can sign up.

The martial riffing on "Visions Beyond" serves as but one point where new converts may shout their devotions but others, such as "They Call Me Death" and "Unmerciful Order" seem like fine places to prostrate yourself as well. In layman's terms, what makes this possible is Moyses Kolesne acid on a bee sting lead playing, drummer Max Kolesne's command of the dark throne and bassist/vocalist Alex Carmago's hell-opening-to-swallow-you, darling bellows. It's beautiful and barbaric and certainly the kind of thing that no upright citizen of the world would expose himself (or herself) to but then again, if you're listening to Krisiun, you're upright citizenship probably went out the window ages ago.

The fellas have seen fit to included three tracks from the rarer-than-Uncle Bill's-steak EP Unmerciful Order which are the sounds of a corpse clawing its way out from six feet beneath the earth. Metal––and in particular Krisiun––has rarely sounded better that it does here.
