Entrails: Obliteration
If you ever get caught in a bone storm, try not to breathe. I don't know that from experience, but from the sound of things on the song "Bonestorm," I don't want to take in all those apocalyptic particulates. Respiratory considerations aside, this is a strong and edgy album, one that's not for the faint of heart.
Here's the thing: the guys in Entrails have been around since 1990. Sure, there have been problems over the years, including lineup changes and inconsistencies. At one point, the band even called it quits. For the last few years, though, Entrails has returned with a healthy serving of Swedish Death Metal that is old school, heavy, and crazed. The music is built out of dark and distorted riffs, rough and wicked vocals, and dark, chaotic lyrics. With this release, the guys in Entrails demonstrate that they are committed to the old school and that they aren't going away any time soon.
The best tracks on this album include the aforementioned "Bonestorm," "Re-Animation of the Dead," "The Grotesque," "Epitome of Death," and "Obliterate." If you are fan of Swedish Death Metal done right, this album is for you.
