Orange Goblin: A Eulogy for The Fans, Live 2012 (CD/DVD)
Very few bands can compare to Orange Goblin for their live Heavy Metal fury! I've seen them many times and every time I have come away from the gig sweaty, drunk and happy. This album tries to capture the feel of a live show but to be honest there is no way to capture the feel of a Goblin gig; you just have to be there. Most of this album is recorded from their triumphant headline appearance on the Sophie Lancaster stage at Bloodstock 2012 in the U.K. Ben Ward arms stretched out like a Heavy Metal preacher and generating pure metal hysteria at every gig. It goes without saying that the album A Eulogy for The Dammed has been the most successful Goblin album to date and it comes as no surprise most of this album is fuelled by songs off that fine slab of Orange Goblin wizardry .'The Filthy And The Few', 'Red Tide Rising' and 'The Fog' are frantic Metal Masterpieces, they sit alongside fan favorites 'Some You Win, some You Lose' and 'They Come Back' like old companions drinking in a pub.
Orange Goblin are one of the hardest working British bands around today, they deserve all the success they can get. This album is a thank you to the fans for their dedication through the years; Goblin fans are amongst the most loyal and The Goblin repay that loyalty every time they take to the stage. An excellent interim album until the next full on Orange Goblin attack which I'm sure will continue the momentum they've already gathered.
