Grave Digger: Clash of the Gods

Some bands do take what seems like an eternity to release new material but not this one. If there was an award for the most prolific then German Power Metal band Grave Digger would have to be in the running, as they have such a great deal of albums to their name since their early '80s inception. It is one thing to be this active but the material has to be good, and Grave Digger still receives much praise for these regular metal releases.

Clash of the Gods is Grave Digger taking inspiration from Ancient Greece for their newest metal album, from the cover art to the songs titles, though they aren't the first metal band to sing about Medusa. Grave Diggers's take on this lady turned monster from Greek mythology is a spirited one. The bands music is more of a rocking heavy metal with a Judas Priest/Primal Fear like feel rather than the Euro Power Metal kind that bands like Helloween are known for, "Charon" is one of the many heavy guitar driven rocking examples of this on Clash Of The Gods. Title song"Clash Of The Gods" and "Call Of The Sirens" have Grave Digger easing back the tempo and hitting their hammers hard while tracks like "Death Angel & The Grave Digger" has the band taking off again as they do multiple time on this release.

Grave Digger's Clash Of The Gods is a great addition to the Digger's extensive musical library which they have accumulated over the years, and this is one experienced metal band that isn't slowing down.
