Argus Panoptes are a Canadian band who take their name from Greek mythology. I had assumed when starting the demo that the band played death metal, and I was somewhat right. Argus Panoptes are a death metal band but they are also unique in that they have a heavy emphasis on making snyths prominent in the songs. At first this sounds a bit awkward as in all honesty the songs would have been just fine without the synths. However the cool thing is that they really don't sound out of place and actually add to, instead of distract from the songs. This unique sound is refreshing in a sea of "me too" death metal bands.
