Dark Days Ahead: Long Road South

There are few metal genres I hate but the ones I do I hate with a passion: Metalcore, deathcore and groove metal are to me absolutely horrible genres. Of course there are always exceptions-I like Trivium and Killswitch Engage for metalcore and I like a couple of Lamb of God albums for groove. Generally though I hate the stuff.

Groove metal can be especially bad with most of the bands sounding like Pantera knock off's (whose only good album is Far Beyond Driven in my opinion). So seeing as Finland's Dark Days Ahead are a bunch of groove metal Pantera worshipers I should hate them, but I dont. For once a groove metal band actually has some songs I would like to hear. Instead of macho chest beating "bro-ness" like most Pantera worshipers, Dark Days ahead emphasize strong musicianship and hooky songs. Good work guys!
