Inner Road, The: Visions

The Inner Road is a new duo from England, comprised of Steve Gresswell and Phil Braithwait, who came to exist when Steve and Phil started writing more symphonic type of prog rock. This music did not fit the band (Coalition) they were playing in and so The Inner Road was founded. This is their debut album Visions.

Visions is 12 tracks of highly entertaining and relaxing Symphonic prog. All songs on the album are instrumental of nature though the occasional spoken words can be heard. All instruments are played by both members. From the first track "The Hidden Sea" to the last "Beyond The Horizon" , the joy that these two musicians put into this recording just drips from your speakers when you listen to this album. I like to think that every title encapsulates a vision the authors and musicians have, like with all instrumental music the lead instrument needs to be played very well as this instrument needs to take you on your journey of your innner vision. In this case probably the Visions of your Inner Road.

With some of the titles I really had the idea of listening to the soundtrack of a film or TV Series. The music told me a story. In short I believe this to be an excellent debut album by two very talented musicians. If it were not for our modern day technology of social sites on the internet I probably would not have heard of this act. It sure would have taken a while, but boy would I have missed something special. 12 beautifully created songs.
