As I sit here and write this for my latest instalment to the listening room I'm glued to the TV watching a talent show 'The Voice', which I have to admit I never thought I would watch. I'm a sucker for an amazing voice and can appreciate that from any musical genre, even though I own a t-shirt that proclaims 'I'm So Metal I Shit Studs' this show has got me hooked…goddamn it!!!

Latest albums pumping out of my speakers have been:-

  • Overkill – The Electric Age (Veteran thrashers back strong).
  • Black Breath – Sentenced To Death (Metal ninja's, took me by complete surprise, Entombed drenched bass poundings).
  • Grand Magus – The Hunt (New drummer, new label, new album… I'm Very happy).
  • Kreator – Phantom Antichrist (Just you wait until this hits your ears…simply career defining, album of the year).
  • High On Fire – De Vermis Mysteriis (Oh hell…there go my internal organs).
  • 3 Inches Of Blood – Long Live Heavy Metal (Indeed, metal is in safe hands with the bollock ripping Cam Pipes).
  • Meshuggah – Koloss (Should be called Colossal, heavier than an elephant giving another elephant a piggy back while carrying two bags of heavy shopping!).
  • Steelwing – Zone of Alienation (Swedish retro metal done how it should be).
  • Unisonic (Catchy as hell and the return of Hansen & Kiske).
  • Entombed – To Ride, Shoot Straight, and Speak The Truth. (Still sounds fresh today).

    Graphic Novels:-
    The Boys
    And anything involving Warren Ellis….

Todd and The Book Of Pure Evil - Great piece of tongue in cheek escapism and riffs.

Coming up on the site, my interview with Firewind/Ozzy guitarist Gus G and I caught up with Mille from Kreator and spoke about their latest masterpiece.
