TesseracT are a UK based progressive metal band who are making a bit of a splash on both sides of the pond even before they unleash their debut album in 2011. Before that they've treated us to a very good EP which does exactly what it should; i.e. whet the appetite for the album.
It would be quite simple to dismiss what TesseracT do as just another overly technical, time signature tomfoolery type proggers but there's much more to the band than that. Take the opening song, "Acceptance", for instance, which certainly begins as if the band want to just show off their chops but develops into something much weightier possibly thanks to the introduction of an actual melody, anyway it's good stuff.
Having said that, it's difficult/impossible to separate one song from the rest as the EP begs to be listened to as a whole, single piece of work and clocking in at around about the twenty-five minute mark I've found it an ideal companion for dog walking and even raking the leaves off the garden!
I most certainly am looking forward to the release of One next year which should see TesseracT gain a solid footing in the marketplace.
