Venomous Maximus: No Warning

From Houston, Texas comes Venomous Maximus, presenting their third album No Warning for Shadow Kingdom Records. Combining classic metal sounds with a touch of doom, Venomous Maximus have no problem churning out a wealth of seriously heavy riffs here on No Warning, with tunes like "Return of the Witch" and "Pray for Me" just littered with mountains of crunch, capped off by the unique vocal delivery of Gregg Higgins, who mixes operatic tones, some spoken word, and the occasional snarl for a style that's unlike much of what you'll hear out there in the metal world. While you'll catch hints of Black Sabbath and perhaps Manilla Road on No Warning, brief glimpses of Ghost pop up here and there, as on the haunting "Blood for Blood", while some serious stoner grooves come out to play on the epic closer "Sea of Sleep", a true feast of guitar thunder and booze soaked attitude.

Chock full of variety and plenty heavy, No Warning is a fun & hard hitting release that is an easy recommendation.
