Q5: New World Order

Jonathan Scott K.: vocals, Rick Pierce: lead guitars, rhythm guitars, Dennis Turner: rhythm guitars, lead guitars, background vocals, Evan Sheeley: bass, background vocals and Jeffrey Mccormack: drums, percussion and background vocals are the current members of Q5, a band who originally formed in 1983 and to be honest didn't exactly shake the world. Skip forward a few decades and the stars aligned (in Germany, naturally) and the band got put back together.

Therein lies the rub with New World Order. It's a fun album but with so long to get their shit together could the band not come up with something more original? There's nothing intrinsically wrong with anything here apart from the crushing sense of heard-it-all-beforeness. I like AC/DC, I like Krokus, I can vaguely tolerate Airbourne, all of whom mine a similar sort of sort of territory but whilst there are some diverting tunes ("One Night In Hellas" in particular) there's nothing that's going to make me want to listen to this again at the end of this sentence.
