Posted on Monday, September 11 2017 @ 15:23:20 CDT by Steven Reid
General Status Quo release "Live At The NEC", on 20 October 2017 via UMC on 2-CD and 3-LP editions [Cat Nos 5777089, 5777092 respectively]. This release represents the first time that the full version of the band's thunderous set in 1982 has been made available. Recorded on May 14th 1982, the show existed in two recorded parts, one album released on Universal and the other broadcast on the BBC. This release combines the two shows into one set for the first time. The show features, of course, massive songs like 'Caroline', 'Roll Over Lay Down', 'Whatever You Want', 'Rockin' All Over The World' and many many more.

Attended by members of the royal family, Status Quo's show for the Prince's Trust at the NEC was one of the bands most famous and talked about gigs in their history. The show captures the show in full flight with a set list combining the best of their hits along with tracks from their various albums one of the highlights being a 23-minute version of '4500 Hundred Times' [full track-listing follows].

This edition comes bolstered with notes by Dave Ling who has gone back and done interviews with the band, the package has a 28 page booklet packed with memorabilia, the CD and Vinyl has been re-mastered by Andy Pearce.

Fully supported by the band, "Live At The NEC" is a phenomenal collection that will be cherished by Quo fans the world over. This is a triumphant revisiting of the glory days of one of the world's most important rock acts.
